Elizabeth's Dowry resulted from the collaborative efforts of Marcus Fabrics, Karen Styles of Somerset Patchwork and Quiltilng, and the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles. Inspired by the historic Mariner's Compass Coverlet (1820-1829) from the Quilters' Guild Collection, Karen Styles created a line of fabrics that she felt would inspire today's quilters. Aside from its historical origins and international scope, what's exciting about this collection is the blending of traditional inspiration with today's digital printing and production technologies that allows greater color capabilities and, therefore, unlimited quilt design opportunities.
